In the Kerbal year, 2005, the worst financial crisis in Kerbellian history erupted. The USK president, Obugan Kerman, a corrupt elite, was harshly punishing the citizens of the Syracusan race and region, with unfair taxes on tea. After the economy crashed, Syracusans had enough. Militia de Nueva Syraca, Militia of the Syracuse, rose and took power of the region, sparking the 8-year-long, "Orange War". The orange on the Syracuse flag represents this war.
President Obugan did not take to this revolution well. He chose to strike at the people of Syracuse even more. He hung innocents and ordered NAPALM bombings of the Syracuse capital Sylvia.
After 8 brutal years of the Orange War, President Obugan would be assassinated by an unknown assailant to this day. The new president, Krump Kerman, issued an official signing of the recognition of the Republic of Syracuse.
Kerbellia has not paid reperations for the war.
The total loss would end up as 19 Million deaths.

During the Kerbal year 2024, we at ROS have decided to dedicate a section to Kerbals who shaped our future.
Pilot Lemcal Kerman survived the terrible 13-bomb incident and would go on to be a test pilot for the most groundbreaking aircraft ever made. Such as the XB-01 and XB-02.
General Gregner Kerman was the first Syracusan on the Mun, he would go on to test-fly many aircraft alongside Lemcal. He would become the lead developer in the "Tank" industry, going on to develop the "JAEGAR" Mobile Howitzer.
